Today, we share a slice of life on the 200 block of South Elm Street. The couple on the right is headed towards the 100 block. Yesterday, the inside reception area of the Lincoln Financial Group building was featured on GDP. Today, the LFG building is peeking out above the tree, as if it is watching over the city. Also in the photo is the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. The barriers are up because part of the street is blocked off to accommodate the added outdoor seating for restaurants. The covered area the couple is walking under what was in previous decades the Ellis-Stone/Thalhimers Building. Soon, the leaves on the trees will change; however, for now, they are evidence of just how green Greensboro is.
If you get a chance, head downtown on this nice, fall day. Also, the Liberty Antiques Festival will be happening today. If you want a smaller, more intimate outdoor event, head to Providence Farm in eastern Guilford County this afternoon. Starting at 3:30, they will have the Zinc Kings playing acoustic instruments while DZ Butts will be selling BBQ and Bull City will be on hand for libations. We don't remember exactly what time we took this photo on Thursday, but we do know- thanks to the LPG building- that it was 68° outside!
A good view.
