This week, we've been looking at street scenes in Greensboro. Today, we go back to "Tate + Gate", and are across the street from the future facility that UNCG is will build at the intersection. The U-Haul building is located across the street from the Industries of the Blind. It is probably no accident that U-Haul chose this location. As university students head back to UNCG and NCA&T next week, U-Haul will probably see an increase in business. Students who live off campus, and new faculty members for that matter, probably rely on U-Haul to get them to and from their apartments/houses.
One thing we that is fun to do at U Haul is to look at which states are advertised on their trucks. The one you can barely see in the left corner advertises Nebraska. On the day we were there, we saw Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alaska, and Virginia; however, we couldn't find one on the lot for North Carolina. This would be a fun end-of-summer activity with children, to make a list of states and see how many they could check off the list and even try to photograph. U-Haul's "Venture Across America and Canada" SuperGraphics program began in 1997 and for the last 24 years, it has been a hit with adults and children alike. See here if you want to learn more about the SuperGraphics program of the different states. Can you guess what North Carolina's super graphic is? After you've guessed, click here, to see it. We're wondering if UNCG's Millennial Campus Initiative will impact this corner of Tate + Gate. We predict many more changes for the area.
Happy Wednesday!
We have no shortage of them here
