Downtown was busy last night as many events were happening for First Friday. There was so much joy in the people who were out. On the north end of town, Center City Park, LeBauer Park, and the Cultural Arts Center offered so many opportunities to engage in the arts- indoors and outdoors. Completely south, at the 600 block of South Elm Street and Lewis Street many people were out having fun. The Bourbon Bowl is now open, complete with indoor and outdoor seating. It quite possibly has the most outdoor seating available at Elm Street. On the southwest corner of Elm/Lewis is a new restaurant, appropriately names Lewis & Elm. It was pretty full last night. Also, the Wrangler & Lee shops opened in the stores that formerly housed Rhyne's antiques.
As you can see from the above photo, East Lewis Street was closed to vehicles and pedestrians were not only walking around, they were dancing up a storm. The Friday Night Live Concert was part of the Wrangler & Lee grand opening celebration. Downtown Greensboro is definitely a destination. Let's hope it stays that way for a very long time. We hope you had a great First Friday in August, even if you did not make it to downtown Greensboro. Happy Saturday!
A good street shot.
