Journalists and local writers in Greensboro are usually quick to mention that our community doesn't have a major land feature to make Greensboro a destination. We don't have a river, beach, mountain; or even a big lake for motorboats and swimming. Historically, we have been a crossroads town. The rail system comes through and Greensboro connecst north to south, east to west. However, we do have several universities and colleges. While, to date, we don't have the high-tech, big corporations like Research Park Triangle. We predict by the mid-21st century our ever-growing, local IHEs (UNCG, NCA&T, High Point University) will bring some very cutting-edge resources to the Triad. All three of these IHEs have received very big financial donations over the past few years. Buildings are being built; facilities are being upgraded; all with an eye on community engagement. It will be so fun to watch this transformation, brought about by our IHEs. Indeed, great things are happening at our IHEs.
In the meantime, the above photo is proof positive that people do have a great time in Greensboro. This very fun, happy couple recently spent a lot of time cruising up and down Elm Street. You can tell by the wave and their smiles they are having fun. A couple of Fridays ago, with this vehicle and a few others cruising Elm Street, it was as if we were at Myrtle Beach, especially with this totally decorated three-wheeler. If this vehicle had a back seat, we would have begged for a ride! We hope you are having a good weekend and finding a way to have a little fun. Sometimes, it is up to us to make our own fun. Hang out in downtown Greensboro, visit the stores, restaurants, and breweries (if you are over 21), watch for glow-in-the-dark vehicles, and you will have a good weekend, right here in Greensboro!
Happy Saturday!
It looks customized, but in many respects resembles a Slingshot.
