Imagine being on a mid-day walk and hearing the deep, low, relaxing notes of a tuba! Such are the experiences when you live in a college town. As campuses cautiously ease back to status quo, those wonderful sights and sounds are returning. In the above photo, Dr. Justin Worley (right) the is giving one of his UNCG students a lesson.
They were playing outside the School of Music in The Elizabeth Herring Garden. The garden has been completed since 2000 and it brings the community great joy. Mrs. Herring’s love of plants and music are evident in the design. From the water feature and lilies to the stone wall and the musicians, it felt like sitting in a Monet painting!
Note: The student agreed to be photographed but requested not to have his name used.
I can't recall ever seeing one of those outside a concert setting.
