For Winter 2021, this has been the weekend for ice in Greensboro! Temperatures have hovered near 32 degrees with rain turning to ice and freezing on tree branches and twigs. Many trees are down in and around Greensboro. People have lost power and many stores are closed. Seeing Wal-Mart on North Battleground Avenue pitch dark at 8:30 pm last night was a strange site. Not even parking lot lights were on.
Weather events help us realize that as hard as we humans try to control all situations, some things in life remain out of our hands. The above photo was taken on a small bush in northwest Greensboro with sweet gum trees looming in the background. Water is frozen in time and space and beautiful in a way that only nature can produce. We hope everyone is OK Finally, Happy Valentines Day. May you be safe at home with someone you love. Life is beautiful.
Freezing rain is the one kind of winter weather I don't like. It can be destructive, but also beautiful.
