The Antique Market Place on Burnt Poplar Road was to hold a "Cruise-In" of vintage cars this past Saturday. Due to inclement weather, it was postponed until the next day. However, on Saturday, there was one car that showed up in all its glory. It was a Carolina-blue, Chevy El Camino. The El Camino was introduced in the Chevrolet line in 1959 and produced from 1959-1960 and 1964-1987. This car-truck hybrid looked spectacular with the brick and glass building as a background.
Tha Antique Market Place is a 45,000 sq. ft. facility with over 170 booths. It is one of those "little bit of everything" antique malls. When they hold special events, it is fun to see people both indoors and outdoors enjoying themselves, and reliving a little nostalgia brought about by viewing items from grandma's era. As for the above El Camino, it is very practical for hauling treasures. This particular one is about as close to Carolina blue as a vehicle gets. Happy Thursday!
I'm not familiar with that kind of car
