The first week of August has come and gone and this is the last month that Cook Out will offer a watermelon milkshake. The above photos features a Cook Out patron sparked across Battleground Avenue enjoying a watermelon milkshake. You can see the drive through Cook Out store in the background, across the street. If you like milkshakes and watermelon, the combination is unbeatable and tastes of summer. There are very few woods we don't have access to year round; so, in a way, it is special to have a food item with limited availability. We do want to mention that we always upgrade to an extra serving of watermelon.
Did you know that Cookout was started in Greensboro? The first one was opened in 1989 on Randleman Road. The chain has expanded significantly and in 2012, they opened their 100th store, As of 2018, there were 250 Cook Out restaurants in over 100 cities, mostly throughout the southeast. Founder Morris Reaves owns the company and his son Jeremy is the CEO. It is a popular food option and seems to be doing well, especially this summer with so many sit-down restaurants operating at limited capacity.
Happy Friday and let us know if you try a watermelon shake.
I like milkshakes. But not watermelon!
