Today's photo was taken on Highway 150, just east of Highway 220, right across the street from The Vineyards neighborhood. We first saw this tree art when friend and GDP reader Katja Brown shared it with us. Greensboro and the communities around us are known for their mature trees. Some neighborhoods, like Sunset Hills, incorporate their huge trees into their Christmas light displays.
The above tree is one that must have split, leaving a hole in the tree. The owner has taken wooden discs and attached them in an artistic fashion. A squirrel, bees, and ladybugs also help fill the space. If you notice, the edge has been framed out, too. There are examples of this kind of art on Pinterest; however, this is the first one we've seen in Greensboro- Summerfield, actually. As you can see from its leaves, the tree continues to live.
Here's to closing out this last day of August with a little art and creativity by a local resident. If you find out more about the person who created this work of art, or if you see another one, please let us know. Happy Monday and have a great week!
That is creative.
