Mike Scoglio is the Resident Coordinator of Starmount Life Magazine. When we were at the pop-up art event at the Farley's house on Madison Avenue this past weekend, Mike stopped by to interview people and take photos for his neighborhood's magazine. In addition to loving to learn more about people and events in the Starmount area, Mike is also passionate about community theatre. He loves performing in live theatre and seeing it as well. Mike also likes to stay physically fit and he learned to box through Al Lowe's Boxing Club in Greensboro.
We interrupted Mike to get the above photo. He had just finished photographing Danny and Mary Kate Farley when we seized the opportunity and photographed Mike. We made several attempts to photograph him and kept catching him with his eyes closed. We didn't want to detain him any more, because, he, too, had people to interview and photos to take. Thank you Mike for all you do for the community. Gayle Fripp reminded us that it is the neighborhoods that make Greensboro so great and people build community in the neighborhoods. Mike Scoglio is one such guy. Once you meet him, you will have a friend. Be on the lookout for the Starmount Life Magazine. Mike may even be posting a photo of us!
There should probably be another community art pop-up on Madison Avenue in October. It is likely Mike will be back to feature more of this neighborhood near Holden Road, between Friendly Avenue and West Market Street! Check Danny Farley's Instagram page, gardening_coaching or the Starmount Life Magazine to check on future events in the neighborhood.
A good photo!
