Madison Avenue is a very long, residential street in Greensboro. It extends from North Josephine Boyd Street near UNCG, through Sunset Hills, gets interrupted by Wendover Avenue, then resumes through the Starmount neighborhood, crosses Holden Road, and, finally, becomes Starmount Drive at the Starmount Forest Country Club and Hamilton Lakes Park. The journey from the 1700 block to the 3900 block is 2 1/2 miles; and lovely miles at that.
This above house on Madison Avenue is located near Brentwood and Holden roads in the 4600 block. This lovely painted brick house is representative of many of the homes and lawns in the Starmount neighborhood section of Madison. It has a lush green lawn, lots of mature trees, and is a very nicely maintained home. At four bedrooms and five bathrooms brick, it is very roomy and very possibly has added on to since being built in 1955. The house and lawn have been so nicely maintained over the last 65 years.
Madison Avenue is a lovely, fun street regardless of where one lives on it. However, pay attention if someone tells you they live on Madison Avenue. You can be in for a surprise from the ins and outs of the street as it winds through the city! If you want a little bit of midweek fun, start on one end of Madison and follow it from one end to another. According to online driving estimates, the drive is about six minutes.
That is a lovely home.
