Last Friday, Elaka Treats was set up in front of Just Be at the southwest corner of Elm and McGee streets. The flavorful frozen treats were so refreshing. If you like flavors like cardamom and rose, these treats are perfect for you. People sampled Elaka's ice cream before and after strolling through the Just Be shop of hand-crafted and fare-trade items. It is so meaningful to take the time to get to know these proprietors and to shop local. Elaka is often set up at the People's Market on Thursday evenings in Glenwood. Here is the website for Elaka Treats, if you want to learn more about their cream, milk, and fruit based products. Their green apple, cumin, cardamom, and vanilla bean ice cream sound yummy!
Downtown Greensboro will again make an effort to do special things today. We're not sure what all will be happing, but as far as we know, they will continue to create a pedestrian area on part of Elm Street. The fun of weekends is the serendipity of what comes along as we get out and explore our environment. Be safe, and be grateful that we live in such a beautiful city with so many creative people.
I'd go for that.
