Yesterday, the glass garage doors were lifted and people were trying out the Carousel at the Natural Science Center. Only a few were riding yesterday, including the little guy and his dad at the pink flamingo. August 20-23 are the "by invitation only" donor days. The member preview for the Greensboro Science Center members is August 24th-25th. The grand opening for the public is Wednesday August 26th. The cost is $2 for the general public and $1 for science center members. Masks and social distancing is required.
The project was initiated by and largely funded to commemorate 100 years of the Rotary Club of Greensboro. The club in our city dates to 1917 and is one of the earliest clubs- founded only 12 years after Rotary International was founded. If you want to keep up with the happenings at the carousel, it has its own Facebook page (Rotary Club of Greensboro Carousel).
Happy Saturday! May these last ten days of August be special. You have ten more days to have a watermelon milk shake at Cook-Out, the perfect item for a pre- or post- visit to the Greensboro Science Center and a carousel ride!
I haven't been on one of those in years.
