We stumbled upon Laughlin Memorial Methodist Church while taking the back way home from the farmers market at Providence Farm. The triangular roof and cross on the brick church really stand out as you are driving past the property at 1417 Huffine Mill Road. According to the cornerstone at the church, Laughlin Memorial was organized in 1911 and rebuilt in 1949 and then again in 1967. According to UMC data, there are only 87 members, with an average attendance of 45. Regardless of size, the building is beautiful and the property is very well maintained. If you are looking for a church home in the eastern end of Guilford County, this would be a great option to consider. If you are out for a Sunday drive, Huffine Mill is a step back in time, but still close to everything.
Have a great Sunday!
It's a lovely one.
