Yesterday's mid 80s temperature felt like summer. It was sunny and hot all day. Then, about 7:30, a storm rolled in. The dark clouds, and that funnel above HOMESLICE, were a visual warning that a storm was brewing. Homeslice, located in Cardinal Crossing at Fleming Road, was very busy as people scrambled to pick up their food orders and get home by the 8pm curfew. Many parts of town experienced lightning and then heavy rain.
It is not uncommon to have hot days and stormy afternoons and evenings. Storms can be beautiful to watch, as long as all are safe. Today is scheduled to be sunny and hot all day in Greensboro, close to 90ยบ. Those who have rain barrels should be able to water their gardens with rainwater. Happy Saturday!
We had storms last night, but they seemed to miss my area.
