I-40 is the east/west interstate that cuts through the entire state of North Carolina. The first section of I-40 opened in 1957 and was a section between Greensboro and Kernersville. While the highway can get backed up at times, it is a little bit of a badge of honor that Greensboro was where it started. Now, it is 423.6 miles in North Carolina.
The above photo shows I-40 east at the juncture where one can access 73, 421, 85, 73, and 840. As seen in the above photo, the interstates still aren't that busy yet. So, if you need to go somewhere, the larger highways are pretty efficient these days- especially if you don't need to go downtown
Have a great Thursday and let's hear a virtual honk if you love Greensboro!
I like the perspective.
