So, with Greensboro honoring the quarantine and staying at home we need to get a little more creative with the Greensboro Daily Photo posts. And, we are determined. Thank you readers for continuing to check in. The above photo was about the most curious thing we've seen on a recent nature walk. Does anybody have any idea what this is? It is either something about to hatch or it is a disease on an evergreen.
If you recognize this curiosity, please tell us. Whatever it is, it grows in Greensboro. Happy Saturday!
This is so funny. It kind of looks like the renderings of covid 19 that you see on TV.

I think maybe it’s this: https://www.facebook.com/piedmontnaturalhistory/photos/a.1607956675944831/3608464805893998/?type=3
Great page to follow for our area, btw!

It is the cedar/apple rust. It spends part of its life cycle on cedars. Later this summer any apple trees near this cedar will have leaves that turn yellow and have lots of black spots on them. I had a tree that looked dead by Aug. 1st year after year.
