Signs of spring are popping up all over Greensboro. The above photo features tulip magnolias growing above a stone wall with a woodshed and field in the background. The tulip magnolia was first cultivated in southwest China, but grows well here in Greensboro. Unlike the other white magnolia that is so popular in Greensboro landscaping, the tulip magnolia is not evergreen. It loses its foliage in the winter and, each spring, it blossoms and then gets leaves.
The photo was taken in northwest Greensboro earlier this week. The sky was a stunning shade of blue. As we all work to redefine leisure time activities, consider walking around and enjoying nature. It can be very spiritual. Nature never disappoints and, spring especially is beautiful in Greensboro. Everything begins to flower and leaves cover trees. Soon, it will be hard to believe that winter was ever here. Happy Sunday!
They are a cheerful sight.
