During this era of self-quarantining, shopping habits are changing. While we don't have statistics for Greensboro, CNN Business reports that Americans have even started buying their groceries online. CNN reports that in 2019, only 4% of grocery sales in the USA were through online services. They reported last Sunday's statistics and their increase from this time last year: Instacart, up 218%; Walmart's grocery app up 160%; and Shipt up 124%.* The above photo shows the UPS delivery person completing rounds to houses in northwest Greensboro.
As we keep our distance at home, there are those who continue working. Shipping companies make deliveries alone in their trucks, often without needing to interact with anyone. The people of Greensboro are great. If you are truly in need of food, medicine, or other essentials, likely someone you know will drop off what you need at your door; just like the very professional UPS guy in the above photo! Happy Spring!
