At Abbotswood, senior citizens can find a living option whether independent or in need of assistance. They also have options for residents who have deteriorating memory. Abbotswood is located on North Elm Street between Cone Boulevard and Pisgah Church. Facilities like this help when the daily tasks of maintaining a home become too much. Nothing we could find online states the year Abbotswood was built, however it was sometime in the mid-late 1990's. Kiosko Retirement Communities began construction on an Abbotswood expansion project in 1999- Verra Spring assisted living units.
The above photo shows the entrance. Abbotswood is receiving a delivery and a few residents are out on the porch, enjoying the sun. In this era of being diligent to distance ourselves, it is the perfect time to call any seniors you know, especially those living alone. If you know someone at Abbotswood, why don't you pick up the phone and give them a call, even if you don't know them that well.
We have to chuckle a little, because, one of our most diligent GDP readers, a feisty independent senior, said recently she received seven calls. In this era where we don't usually make phone calls, seven calls was quite a windfall. Happy Wednesday! Happy checking in!
It looks appealing from the outside.
