Today's photo features Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. Pleasant Garden is a community on the southeast side of Greensboro. In 2012, we featured the front of the church from Neelley Road (here). The above view is from the side, as seen driving in from Franklinville. The cars in the parking hint at just how busy the church was on Saturday afternoon. Local basketball teams had just finished playing. Located in the heart of Pleasant Garden, for many PGBC is, indeed, the heart of their community. It is the kind of church that holds many community events and had meetings in addition to the great sermons each Sunday.
As one example, this afternoon is the Upward Sports Celebration. The Trampoline Dunk Team from Liberty University will be at the church inspiring those in attendance. Today will be a busy day at the church. One of the most touching things the church does is visit the homebound members of the church. It would be really nice to get those older members to tell their stories of the history of the church over the years. It would be nice to get a church history online. Does anyone know the year the church was first established?
I like its design.
