Quaker Village is getting a facelift! Trending on social media are those photos from 2009 and then, ten years later to 2019. We happen to have a 2009 photo of Quaker Village, taken in the first year of Greensboro, see here. In 2016, we published another photo with better information, here. The strip mall opened in 1964, so, now, it is officially a senior citizen 55 years old. The 44,000 sq. ft. shopping center across from Guilford College filed for bankruptcy in 2010, but appears to be back on its feet.
The businesses are open, but it can be a little challenging to find the entrances. Please continue to patronize the shops. Once you get past the chain link, you have the same great businesses inside. Since the Wal-Mart neighborhood store opened on the back side of the Quaker Village, the other sides of QV are a lot more accessible. Happy Saturday!
