Spotted at the Friendly Center was zero-emission, battery-electric bus. It is part of the Greensboro public transportation system. The batteries for these electric motor vehicles can travel up to 200 miles before needing to be recharged. As you can see from the rear view, they don't have exhaust pipes. The switch from the diesel engines reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 687,500 pounds per year. *
These busses have been in operation for almost a year now. If one of your New Year's resolutions has to do with helping the environment, consider taking the bus- at least once in a while. The more demand there is for public transportation, the more Greensboro will be likely to spend on it. Ride, if you like clean energy. It is an easy ride from Friendly Center to downtown Greensboro. Happy Saturday! This is the last Saturday in 2019!
