Yesterday, a group that pushes the envelope with respect to First Amendment rights, assembled in several places around Greensboro and High Point. Westboro Baptist Church assembled and with signs that incited very strong reactions from the liberal groups they were targeting.
Above was part of the crowd at one of their Greensboro stops; specifically, at the corner of Josephine Boyd and Spring Garden Streets. The counter protest of people assembled was peaceful, determined to send a message of tolerance and love. There was an impromptu band in the background that, at one point, was playing Baby Shark. Throughout there were hundreds of counter protesters dancing and chanting along the way. At the end of the day, the protests were peaceful and participating students got a good lesson on the right to free speech and to assemble peacefully- even when the message is hurtful.
Peaceful protests are the best kind, especially when there are two viewpoints.. lots of smiles there Janis 😊

It's good to see the counter protest. The Westboro lunatics are revolting.
