The great North Carolina Folk Festival of 2019 has come and gone. The above photo shows the audience at the Lawn Stage tent for the fiddle workshop on Saturday. At the workshop, fiddlers from Cajun, Old-Time, Irish, and Bluegrass bands gathered to showcase and explain their genre. They played some tunes individually and then as an ensemble. At you can see, the session was well attended, as were so most of the performances and workshops on Saturday. The festival has come to a close and so begins the planning for the next NC Folk Festival, to be held in Greensboro, September 2020.
Instead of turning the camera on the stage, we opted for showcasing the audience; because nothing pleases performers more than playing for a full house. And, indeed, the house was full. We dedicate today's post to one audience member, Betsy, a loyal reader of Greensboro Daily Photo. She came up to us during the event to thank us for continuing to publish GDP. In that regard, we are rather like musicians. We love knowing there is an audience out there. Having readers thank us and let us know how much they enjoy the posts goes a long way in inspiring us to maintaining this labor of love. Thank you Betsy, for continuing to follow Greensboro Daily Photo. We hope you can find yourself in this photo. We see you!
Quite a crowd!
