Battleground Avenue starts all the way downtown at Greene Street and continues all the way north to Old Battleground where it becomes Highway 220. Each section has a special character and the northern end of the road has shown tremendous growth over the past few years. It is definitely the north/west pulse of the city.
The above photo shows the intersection at Cornwallis Drive and Lawndale Avenue. This is the area between Kirkwood and Old Irving Park. You can see the Battleground Avenue sign clearly displayed in the middle of the intersection. It is always nice when streets are clearly marked. The trees really enhance the intersection, contrasting nicely with the metal bars of the railway.
