A little mid-week fun being brought to you live from a cattle pasture near Greensboro, North Carolina. Actually, the above bovines live on Bunch Road, in the northwest end of Guilford County. They looked so beautiful grazing in that green pasture under the blue sky dotted with clouds.
While North Carolina is not one of the top states for cattle, there are nearly half a million beef cattle and over 1,200,000 total cattle of all different varieties.* While we don't have data specifically for Greensboro, the Piedmont region is the most abundant area of the state for cattle. Our area is well suited because of that carpet of green seen above. To be sure, the cattle in today's photo look happy!

Reminds me of the time I was riding around with my late father-in-law in Ashe County. I made him stop along the side of the road, when he asked why I said looks cows in a field in Ashe County, in Ashe County it's all about Christmas Trees, of which at the time he was a grower. We both got a good laugh. Now days in Guilford County it's mainly housing developments, but it's great to still see cattle, dairy and horse farms. Great photo as always!
