It seems like it took forever for spring to arrive in Greensboro, but spring is finally here! Now, the season will start flying. With trees budding and flowers blooming, azaleas and dogwoods ready to bloom, Greensboro will enter one of its most beautiful times of the year. Last night, a full moon coincided with the vernal equinox. The moon was especially beautiful as it was setting yesterday morning in Greensboro. The above photo was taken near Lake Higgins as it was setting between two evergreens. When the moon is full, and it is not overcast, you don't even need a flashlight to walk around the block.
Both Passover and Easter are tied to the lunar calendar. Passover is celebrated on the first full moon after the vernal equinox, and Easter can't be before Passover. Now, the Jewish community waits patiently until April 19th, for the next full moon, and for Passover to start. And then, Sunday, April 21st Christians will celebrate Easter. Happy Thursday! Happy Spring!
Thank you for this beautiful picture!!!
