The Aycock Fellowship Ministries Church is located at 1306 South Aycock Street, not too far from Gate City Boulevard. According to the cornerstone, the church was built as the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1937. The triangular facade is rather humble and plain, with teal, fiberglass windows. However the appearance from the street is deceptively small. The solid brick structure has a wing added on in the back.
As of January January 3rd, Aycock Street got named Josephine Boyd Street after Josephine Boyd Bradley, the first African-American to attend Grimsley High School (then Greensboro Senior High). It will be interesting to see if the church gets renamed the Josephine Boyd Fellowship Ministries.
Happy happy New Year Janis ✨ Have been looking back at missed posts. What a meaningful choice for the theme, loved it. Also TEN years, how blooming fantastic, well done both of you, it's not that easy to run a daily blog, good job!
