Buffalo Presbyterian Church has been a Greensboro institution since 1756, over 50 years before Greensboro became a city. That is a lot of history, a lot of congregations, and a lot of change. It was settled by Scotch-Irish who came from Scotland to Ireland to Pennsylvania and then settling here. The church has so much rich history in the community and they have maintained documentation of this history.
The church has expanded over the years, yet they have maintained as much character of the original site as possible. When the sanctuary expanded, they went to great lengths to see that the new brick matched the original brick. The acoustics in the sanctuary are reported to be very good. Let's all attend a service and see for ourself. This church is so significant to the Greensboro community. See a very different photo of the church (here), taken by GDP a decade ago.
I'm reminded of academic architecture here.
