The Liberty University women's basketball team, the Lady Flames, was in Greensboro yesterday to play a game against the UNCG Lady Spartans. The game was what you call a buzzer beater with UNCG winning in the last second with a score of 48-45. Liberty, located in Lynchburg, VA, is only 109 miles from Greensboro, making this match up something of a backyard brawl.
If you are looking for fun and affordable activities for winter break, check out what the local universities have to offer. Between basketball games, art galleries, and great places to walk and romp around, the many institutions of higher education (IHE's) in the area provide great options. While the IHE's are already on break, the K-12 public schools in Guilford County will be readjusting to academic rigor today after a week of snow days. Happy Monday!
Amazing shot by Nadine! My granddaughter and I were on our feet. This team is special and fun to watch.

A good shot!
Here the universities are in fall term exam period through the rest of this week, and I imagine the schools run until the end of this week at the lower levels and then get two weeks off.
