The Really, Really, Free Market is going on right now in the heart of Glenwood at the People's Market. Every Black Friday, Greensboro resident Kathy Clark, organizes and hosts this market where anybody can bring anything to give away and anybody can take these items. There are no strings attached; no entrance fees; and you don't have to bring to take items. Kathy, and her very dedicated crew of volunteers, do this to remind us that we can do good for the community and keep things out of landfills.
The event reminds those who are more fortunate that we don't need to partake in the shopping frenzy on Black Friday. Those who are in need know where to go, one day a year, to find toys for their children, coats for winter, and even furniture and household goods. Consider joining in on the fun. Also, consider, at the end of the day, helping Kathy put away tables and get any leftovers to a thrift store. Thank you Kathy, Angela, et. al., for this great community service.
That sounds like a better idea than the madness of Black Friday in a mall.
