It is the beginning of the month, which means we are entering the final quarter of the year. Fall is upon us, before you know it, Greensboro's church lawns will be brimming with pumpkins and gourds for sale. It also means that it is time for the latest edition of O. Henry Magazine, a Greensboro staple since 2012. The magazine is widely available throughout the city, especially at Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, and the Red Collection. If you ever have a hard time finding a copy, you can stop by their headquarters at 1848 Banking Street, behind the Lawndale Plaza in Irving Park.
If you have ideas for an article, the staff is open for ideas. The editors and contributors write exceptionally well, ask great questions, and do an excellent job of focusing on the positive in our great city. The last page is "An O. Henry Ending," which is open for community members to contribute something, especially if it has one of those twists at the end, the hallmark of the stories of one of Greensboro's greatest authors. Here is the contact information for the magazine, and here is a great article about founding editor, Jim Dodson. It seems like the O. Henry Magazine has been around forever. It is hard to believe that it is only six years old.
That hasn't been long then.
