The above scene looks like it could be on the edge of the woods in rural Guilford County. In reality, it is located very near one of Greensboro's busiest intersections, along Battleground Avenue at New Garden Road. It can't possibly be meant to be a secret. Were the tenants interested in obscuring their campsite, they could have pulled it a few more feet to the east, into the brush behind Lincoln Green apartments.
In 1781, within walking distance from this encampment, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse took place. It was a decisive point in the Revolutionary War. While the British won the battle, it was a strategic victory for the Americans. Hopefully, whatever the purpose for the encampment, from home base for someone who is homeless, to a camping experience for someone trying to live off the grid, to anything in between, may this venture be a positive, turning point for the people therein.
You do wonder what the story is.
