This weekend, Bell House Center is hosting a most amazing art show. The 50+ Art Show & Sale features fifty local emerging and established artists over fifty years of age. Bobby Craddock, the show's organizer, has worked tirelessly to assemble this exhibit by Greensboro's "senior" artists. The three day event opened last night at 2400 Summit Avenue (just behind Hospice) and is open today, and Sunday, from 12- 5pm.
At last night's opening reception, you would never have known that Hurricane Florence had been threatening Greensboro for nearly a week. In spite of heavy rains, the opening was very well attended and fun was had by all. In the above photo, Bobby is seen talking to two of the featured artists, Gloria Williams and Katherine Brown. Gloria ( left) has a colorful painting, Tequila Sunrise, and Katherine has a white, mixed-media piece.
Head over today is you are in the market for art. Buying local art and having that personal connection to the artist is always special- and prices are very reasonable. If you run in to Bobby, he will tell you about the show and the artists in such an amusing and delightful way that you just may end up buying art that you didn't even know that you needed, but that you will enjoy for a very long time.
Good that the event is getting visitors!
