This bright feast for the eyes is the exhibition, Dirty Fingernails, from the summer camp at Greensboro's Center for Visual Arts at the Cultural Arts Center on Davie Street. Children of all ages had the opportunity to participate in these summer camps. The exhibit made it clear that participating children learned to use a variety of materials and to put their personal touches on their art projects. Significant use of color was evident throughout. Above, through the plate glass of the exhibit hall, directly below the "n", is a vacuum cleaner that was decorated and turned into a showcase piece of art. If you are home with children today, find a way to have your children make art as it will help reduce the stress that comes with the challenges of working through a storm.
The Cultural Arts Center is a Greensboro Parks and Recreation Facility. It is one of many great community resources in our city. There are classes and opportunities for performing and visual artists of all ages.
Hopefully, Greensboro has been spared and there is no damage from Hurricane Florence. Happy Friday!
That was a good summer camp for kids.
