The Battleground Veterinary Hospital at 3450 Battleground Avenue proudly displays the Rod of Asclepius which is associatd with healing and medicine. In Greek mythology, non-venomous snakes, specificaly the Aesculapian snakes, crawled around areas where the sick slept. While there is some ambiguity as to what the rod and what the serpent actually represented, seeing one sends a clear message that efforts to heal are made within.
This practice, under the leadership of Dr. Jon Amos, prides itself on treating pets like family. The building has a solid industrial look, but the deep pink roses at the front are in full bloom soften the building's stark exterior. It is the kind of place that you might not notice, until you are need of someone to serve your pet. If you go in, you won't find snakes crawling around on the floor, but you will find efficient and loving service. Can you think of other places in Greensboro where the Rod of Asclepius is displayed?
Quite modern architecture.
