George Lopez, the REAL George Lopez as he likes to joke about himself, moved to Greensboro ten years ago from New Jersey and before that Cuba. He sets up at the Farmers Market on Sandy Ridge Road every Thursday-Sunday selling his very tasty homemade salsa. George meticulously hand chops the fresh vegetables and uses about six kinds of pepper to give his salsa a good bite, but not a burn.
In the above photo, you see George with a customer. George is elated because this is a repeat customer, who returned, singing the praises of the salsa. George hands customers a very generous sample plate of salsa with chips, peaches, and a couple of other items to hit home the point that you can put this salsa on everything. It can be cooked it is with rice, even used as a meat marinade. The salsa is a gluten-free, vegan product. You do have to like cilantro as it is the first ingredient in the product. It also contains celery, which gives it a slightly different taste than other salsas on the market. Meeting locals like George is what makes eating local and shopping places like the farmers market a truly special experience.
Thank you so much for this wonderful article..it was the pleasure meeting you. I hope you are enjoying my BabyBolo'z.
