It actually started as Irving Park Deli (IPD), then when another family purchased it, they wanted a nicer restaurant. So they left IPD upstairs and put in Anton's in the basement, always referred to as Cellar Anton's due to location. My mother ate at IPD during her Greensboro High School days and I ate their during my Page High School days. Sure miss their Lasagna...

It's exceedingly rare to find a cigar shop here. Most of the shops that sell them only sell them as a small part of a larger operation- magazines and newspapers are their real bread and butter.

In catching up with local news, we have just learned that Phil Segal III passed away this past Wednesday. Here is a link to his obituary from the News & Record.https://www.greensboro.com/obituaries/segal-iii-philip-michael/article_95a65837-aa77-59aa-ad31-5a532801fa39.html

If you knew Phil and want to make a donation, please send it to Temple Emanuel, 1121 Jefferson Road, Greensboro, NC 27410 or to the Jimmy V Foundation, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513.

Phil was a Grimsley High School grad and was well respected in the local community. We're glad he had a good eight years to enjoy his business. He worked hard.
