Standing in Omega Sports Store parking lot, it is easy to see that the bicycle shop has moved next door. Mr Higgins, has been selling bicycles for several decades, the last several in this spot on Battleground Avenue. His first bicycle shop was the first in Greensboro and was located near UNCG.
Mr. Higgins has owned the above land since 1951, back when the surrounding area was mostly woods. To be sure, if you visit this shop, you can get a lot of history about Greensboro and find a way to get some exercise, too. Here is when he was featured on GDP in 2015. He is almost 90 now. That is a lot of years selling (and buying bicycles). Honk if you love riding bikes!
It appears that he has down-sized. As the owner of the property he may be looking to rent out the former unit and make some money. I'd like to visit his shop but I just bought a new Trek Verve which is about as sweet as they come. I had a Trek mountain bike for about 11 years and decided it was time to upgrade. Lois and I ride 4-6 miles several times a week. We think that's pretty good for a couple of oldsters.

You wonder how long the sign will be there.
