Jessie Rae (Moncla) featured her art and illustrations last weekend at the art pop up at Westerwood Tavern. Jessie Rae does commissions, offers original works of art, prints and more. She trained professionally at Weaver Academy and then UNCG. She taught for several years, but recently started working full-time as an artist and illustrator. Her art has hints of pop art and she gets special inspiration from country singer, Dolly Parton. In the above photo, Jessie Rae is holding a a Wes Anderson-esqe print of a woman looking through binoculars balancing on a stack of mis-matched chairs. The design, a nod to the balancing act of daily living, was one she entered in a mural competition in High Point.
If you like to talk to young artists and purchase original art, consider heading to the 512 Collective Art Gallery in High Point on Sunday for their art show. Jessie Rae should be there. If you have time on Saturday, head to 125 Bruce Street in Greensboro for a St. Patrick's Day, Best of Spring! art pop-up, from 10am-3pm. Eight Greensboro artists will be offering everything from wind chimes to jewelry, pottery, original art, and more. The Triad area is lucky to have so many talented artists. And, Jessie Rae, if you are reading this today, please stop by and check out the Bruce Street event.
A wonderful shot of her and her art.

She's a beauty and has that special look of an artist. Did you ever notice a real artist seems to know more than the rest of us about most things?
