This weekend is a big weekend for art in Greensboro. One event is the Fall 2017 Keep it Local Art and Pottery Show at 2409 Oak Ridge Road, just off of Highway 150 and just east of Oak Ridge Military Academy. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be over twenty vendors, all work is original. At 11:00 and 2:00, where will be an Art Hunt. With six cans of food or $5.00, you can participate in this fundraiser for the One Step Further Food Bank. Many animals are usually on hand to entertain the young and young-at-art art enthusiasts. There should be a llama, donkeys, chickens, and dogs to liven the event. The above photo features three animals made by the very talented Leanne Pizio. Her most creative pieces usually sell very early in the day, but she will have great pottery available in her on-site studio all day. Finally, Keep it Local will feature live music.
Another event is at Steinberger Artist Center at 712 Summit Avenue from 2-5pm on Saturday. The event, called 17 senses is hosted by the art event known as 17 Days Greensboro. Denise Landi, Sally White, Lee Zacharias, Krystal Hart, and Gina Franco will be sharing their great art with visitors. As for as performing arts, there will be a blues music concert on Saturday night at the Van Dyke Performance Space in Greensboro at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $15 and the visual art events are free.
