Today, we want to share one more photo of the corner of Cleburne Street and Cornwallis Drive on Saturday evening. It shows the level of police protection along the route President Trump was taking from the airport to the fundraiser at the DeJoy's home on Country Club Drive. Policeman work really hard every day, but they were especially working hard on Saturday. It was interesting to stand and talk to them.
In the time we were waiting, we learned that they were wearing cameras. We learned that the elaborate lighting system on their bicycles was designed by the policeman in the foreground. People were encouraging him to market it. After working to protect the President, the policemen had to head downtown to work since it was NC A&T's homecoming. Before President Trump even arrived, everyone was soaked- including the policemen. They worked really hard to keep order, yet establish rapport at the same time.
A tough day for them.
