AMF All Star Bowling has been a Holden Road institution for decades. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, consider calling some friends and heading to the bowling alley. On Fridays, they are open from 3pm to 2am. Some people make an evening of bowling; others only want to bowl a few games. AMF lanes recently got an exterior paint job. The bold red and white color combination really stands out as you drive by. You can't miss it.
The blue and gold bus in the parking lot belongs to North Carolina A&T University. Our best guess is that the NCA&T Aggie bowling team was practicing yesterday afternoon. They are gearing up for bowling season, which starts at the end of the month. The Aggie team, in spite of having lost their very talented seniors, is very good. They won the national championship in 2015 and are southern division favorites again this year. That blue and gold bus really stands out against the red building. If you ever see the team practicing there, please cheer them on. They are good. Watch them and you may add a few points to your score!
I've done that once or twice when I was a kid, in one of the towns near where I grew up. I imagine the bowling alley is probably still there.
