Hudson Overall Company set up a table, and industrial sewing machine, at the recent Mill Days at Revolution Mill. Hudson Overall is a part of the Hudson Hill retail store on South Elm Street. At their store, they offer jeans, Americana accessories, and leather goods. Hudson Hill emphasizes making and selling items that will last; a nod to the past, but well designed for the future. Flash fashion, their items are not! They are located in the store that was formerly Coe Grocery and Seed Company. There is a lot of history in that building and, Hudson Hill encourages you to come, sit a spell, soak in the history, and maybe find a Greensboro-themed t-shirt or some jeans made with local denim.
In the above photo, the tailor was sewing sleek, rugged, leather pouches with industrial zippers. People were stopping by marveling at this dying art. If you didn't get to the Mill Days, head to Hudson Hill and see some items that are made the old fashioned way, by hand. Happy Friday! We hope you use it wisely. It is the last Friday in September. The last quarter of 2107 starts in two days.
Often times the old fashioned way is better than the mass produced.
