Twilight, after a rain, when it is bright but not sunny, can lead to a sky full of the most beautiful blues. The above photo was taken at Jefferson Village last week after a rain. The skies were clear and dramatic. On a night like the one above, it would not be usual to see fireflies in Greensboro. Did you know that temperature affects the number of flashes per second? The lights in the parking lot look like giant fireflies. The week after the Fourth of July in Greensboro can be pretty quiet with many people away on vacation. If you are in town, we hope you will find something creative and fun to do. The News & Record newspaper, the O. Henry Magazine, and Go Triad are three good places to start to get an idea of what is happening around town. Then again, we can all make our own fun. Consider organizing a picnic in one of our local parks. If you are trying to be more mindful and calm your mind, remember Meditation at noon tomorrow at Church of the Covenant at the corner of South Mendenhall and Walker Avenue.
Regardless of what you do, please get outside; walk around the block or visit a park. Truly, it is hard to improve on nature- especially dusk in Greensboro this time of year.
An amazing sky!
