Mayfield Creamery, based in Athens Tennessee, is expanding its territory and seeking to increase brand recognition. To increase product recognition in targeted markets, they are holding ice cream challenges in different cities. Yesterday was Greensboro's turn. Yesterday, they were in LeBauer Park with WFMY providing live Facebook feed. Their goal was to serve 10,000 scoops of ice cream FREE between 11am and 3pm. For every scoop of Mayfield Moose Tracks served, Mayfield would donate $1 to the Salvation Army to help with its community programs. Word of free ice cream spread quickly throughout Greensboro and LeBauer Park was crowded with people gathering for a scoop.
Mayfield broke their record and served ten-thousand scoops in an hour and fifteen minutes. Hats off to Mayfield Creamery and LeBauer Park for partnering for this fun fundraiser. They were able to get over ten thousand people downtown on a hot, summer Monday when surely half the residents are away at the beach. There is something magical about the word, FREE!
The photo below is a scene of the Mayfield Ice-cream freezer leaving the park. If we understood correctly, they are headed to Charlotte.
Who could resist that?

There's also something magical about the words "ice cream" on a hot summer day!
