The College Park neighborhood of Greensboro is located just west of Aycock Street, near Sunset Hills. You may recognize the street names: College Park Drive, West End Place, Mayflower Drive, and Sylvan Road. College Park is a diverse neighborhood filled with residents who seem to enjoy each other's company and who are supportive of each other. One such example is the above photographed yard display for Laura, who turned fifty yesterday. The display was planned and implemented by several of her friends in the neighborhood. Imagine waking with a clothesline in your yard, filled with bras and this birthday greeting.
We learned of the display thanks to Nanny Foster, who lives in College Park. We also have to thank Nanny who is a great photographer. She took this photo and submitted to us for publication. Usually, we take our own photos, because part of our enjoyment is getting to know the people and places of Greensboro. However, guest photographers sure make our job easier. A big thank you to Nanny, whom we featured HERE last year.
In preparing this post, we realized we don't have a category for HUMOR. Perhaps we need to start infusing our posts with more humor. After all, Greensboro is full of fun, joyful people. Thank you, Nanny, for reminding us of that. And, happy 50th Laura. We can't wait to see what your friends do for your 60th!
Oh boy! What a way to mark the occasion.
Better that than a yard full of pink flamingos!
