Hey teachers, looking for something to do next week? Grab your employee badges and head downtown, 1618 downtown restaurant is offering teachers 25% off on lunches between now and Labor Day (Tuesday-Friday). This is a great deal because the food is delicious and already reasonably priced. They have a lot of locally sourced food and it is fresh. Their sandwich options range from ground ribeye to chicken to a portabella mushroom vegetarian option. If you like salads, they have a tasty salad of salmon on greens. The waitstaff is perfectly attentive, without being overbearing.
1618 is located at 312 South Elm Street, near Scuppernong books. After lunch, you can head to Scuppernong and select a book; the staff is great at making recommendations, if you ask. Downtown and 1618 downtown have so much to offer these days and in the summer, parking is easier. The business gets its name, not from its address on Elm Street, but from the address from the original 1618 that is located on 1618 West Friendly Avenue. Both are yummy!
It sounds like a good place to go for a bite to eat!
