A few weeks ago, we shared the fall festival and pie baking contest at Providence Presbyterian Church on Lake Brandt Road. While on site, we had a chance to visit the sanctuary and were struck by the simplicity of the space. As the sun sets, it shines through the clear panes of glass. The three panes evoking a cross and the wooden cross on the front of the pulpit are the only ornamentation in this calm space. On the Bible stand is the following quote, "Do this in remembrance of me."
If you want to learn more about the church, read Pastor van Eyk's message, here. If you forgot about the time change (hard to do with so many digital devices), you just may still have time to make it to a religious service, at providence or elsewhere. Happy Sunday- just communing with nature can be pretty spiritual.
Experiencing the quietness and simplicity of this picture, combined with listening to Krista Tippett's "On Being", greatly enhance my Sunday morning.

The simplicity appeals to me.
